Elinore Rupert Pruitt, a widow from Denver, comes to Wyoming in the spring of 1909 to work as a housekeeper for Clyde Stewart. Along with her is her young daughter, Jerrine. Shortly after her arrival Mrs. Pruitt files a homestead entry on property located very close to Mr. Stewart's homestead. Elinore eventually marries Mr. Stewart and sets up permanent roots in Wyoming. Come join Elinore in her sometimes hilarious adventures!

Chapter 7: Claiming Land in Wyoming
Elinore writes often to a former employer, Mrs. Coney. Her delightful writing explains her antics as she arrives in Wyoming and begins to stake claim to some land. She works right along side the men on Mr. Stewart's ranch, not letting the fact she's a woman slow her down.

Chapter 8: Meeting Strangers
Elinore often takes off exploring the woods with her young daughter. She is never lacking for things to keep her busy, including preparing holiday dinners for ranch hands and stragglers who wander in.

Chapter 9: Life Changes
Elinore finds her life changing fairly rapidly in Wyoming. She builds a house, and gets married. She loves the hard work and independence, and gives advice to others wanting to make the same sacrifices she has made to succeed.
