Using the formula for distance, calculate the answers to the following problems:
Distance equals speed multiplied by time or d = r x t
- If Ole traveled 100 miles in 5 days how far did he travel in 1 day?
- If he traveled for 10 hours a day for 5 days, how many total hours did he travel?
- If he traveled those 100 miles at a rate of 2 miles per hour (mph), how many hours did he travel per day?
Note: Today a car can travel at 60 mph.
- It is 100 miles to Sprague. How long will it take to get there in a car traveling 60 mph?
- If you traveled the same number of hours in a car that Ole traveled on horseback (see question 2), how far could you travel at a rate of 60 mph?
